The attraction of new businesses to the State remains an important task to create jobs in Nevada. For this reason Success Nevada was established to enhance economic development initiatives to draw new business and investment to our state. Success Nevada, a nonprofit corporation, is composed of public and private partners who help fund these initiatives through national and international trade missions, often led by the Governor or one of the State's Ambassadors.

Why International Economic Development

Nevada is home to 2,730 exporting companies of which 2,327 are classified as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with fewer than 500 employees. According to the International Trade Administration (ITA), Nevada exports totaled $8.7 billion in 2014. Exports from Nevada's small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) represent about 14 percent of that total. ITA data shows exporting companies grow at a faster rate, create more jobs, and pay their employees more than non-exporting firms. Nevada's exporting manufacturers already employ one out of every 6 manufacturing workers in the state. By enhancing opportunities for such firms to expand internationally, the state's economy and workforce will be more resilient to fluctuations in the economy.

Success Nevada activities include:

  • Generating business investment from international sources through trade delegations and meetings with foreign investors and dignitaries;
  • Providing a forum for Nevada businesses to communicate with one another regarding the generation of foreign investment;
  • Providing information to Nevada businesses regarding foreign business opportunities that benefit the state of Nevada's economy.
